The Fantasia Film Festival and Cinemaniax presents our 21 guests with double passes for a special screening of DEADMAN INFERNO, on Saturday July 25TH, 2015 at the Concordia Hall Theatre (1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. West) at 6:45 PM.
DEADMAN INFERNO (North American Premiere)
It was on rainy night ten years ago that the Munekata yakuza gang was ambushed in the street and gunned down. The gang’s boss survived, but on a crippled leg he limped away from the criminal underworld, settling into a humble life in the trucking business. Today, Munekata’s blood brother is released from prison, and it should be a happy day — but Takashi’s teenage daughter has fled to Zeni Island with her friend, and so the ageing thugs set out to find her. Little do they know their old rivals are locked, loaded and looking to settle unfinished dirty business. And a batch of really, really bad drugs have hit the street on Zeni. And, oh yeah, deranged undead ghouls are starting to swarm the island, ravenously hungry for human flesh!
Killer yakuza crooks! Blood-crazed crackhead zombies! Samurai-sword slicing and dicing! Karate-kickin’ schoolgirls with attitude! And Japanese genre-cinema superstar Show Aikawa, celebrating 30 years in the entertainment biz! Aikawa has starred in countless beloved Rising Sun rockers and shockers, notably the brilliant TOKYO ZOMBIE and numerous Takashi Miike gems (DEAD OR ALIVE, GOZU and ZEBRAMAN, for starters). DEADMAN INFERNO fits him like a finely tailored suit, dropping the veteran screen yakuza into the eye of the storm when gun-toting gangsters, kick ass kogals, gut-munching gore fiends and assorted goofy misfits collide! A crazed, crime-infested horror-comedy hell ride with hilarious curve balls coming outta left field when you least expect it, DEADMAN INFERNO is a marvelously murderous mess you won’t want to miss.
